We’re delighted to introduce Barbour to Feather & Stitch. Founded in 1894 by Scotsman John Barbour in South Shields, in the North East of England, the brand began by supplying oilskins and weatherproof garments to protect sailors and fishermen from the harsh British climate. Over 130 years on, Barbour remains a fifth‑generation family‑owned company and still manufactures its iconic Bedale and Beaufort wax jackets by hand at its South Shields factory. The company also offers a full wardrobe of stylish, functional clothing, from shirts and knitwear to dresses, accessories and footwear, all inspired by the values of the British countryside. Barbour even runs a re‑wax and repair service, enabling customers to extend the life of their beloved coats.
For our first Barbour edit, we’ve curated a selection of classic wax and quilted jackets that will see you through country walks and city commutes alike.
